Training Courses By Position

 

All Required courses for the position of Emergency Communicator must be completed within 18 months of enrollment in the Auxiliary Communications Service. IS-700 must be completed within the first 30 days following enrollment. All courses for the advanced positions of Team Leader, Assistant Auxiliary Communications Officer and Auxiliary Communications Officer, must be completed prior to appointment to the position.
 

Emergency Communicator
Prerequisite: none

  3. Net Protocol  and Net Operations
  4. Skywarn I  (optional)
  5. IS-700 National Incident Management System
  6. WebEOC Incident Management  (optional}
  7. Refresher Courses as Needed

 

Team Leader
Prerequisite: previously held Emergency Communicator position. Appointed by the Emergency Coordinator.

  1. Emergency Communicator II
  2. Skywarn II (optional)
  3. WebEOC Incident Management
  4. IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command
  5. IS-242 Effective Communications
  6. Refresher Courses as Needed
     

Assistant Auxiliary Communications Officer
Prerequisites: previously held Emergency Communicator and Team Leader positions. Appointed by the Emergency Coordinator.

  1. IS-139 Exercise Design
  2. IS-200 Single Resource Initial Action Incidents
  3. IS-244 Developing and Managing Volunteers
  4. Refresher Courses as Needed

 

Auxiliary Communications Officer
Prerequisites: previously held Emergency Communicator, Team Leader, and  Assistant Auxiliary Communications Officer positions. Appointed by the jurisdictions Emergency Manager.
